Blowout to go out
Review provided by: Olga Gromova
There’s been a lot of buzz around dry bars lately whose motto has always been: “no cuts, no color, just blowouts”. I never quite understood that, why would anyone want to go somewhere that’s so limited? I would rather visit a one stop shop for my blowout so that I have the option of getting a cut, color, manicure, facial, makeup touchup or whatever else my little heart desires.
Since I am not one to limit my options I visited Pucci Salon in Scottsdale for my first blowout experience, knowing that as far as options are concerned, Pucci certainly had me covered.
My blowout master for the day was Rebecca Marie, a 3 year Pucci veteran and amazing stylist. Hair has been Rebecca’s passion since she was a little girl, and I was more than happy to let her express her artistic ability on my messy locks. I decided to go all out an get curls rather than doing the classic straight look (keep in mind that if you want curls you need to come in with unwashed hair, curls hold better if your hair has some grit to it). After deciding on the right curls for my hair we were ready to go.
Rebecca started out by spraying Oribe Maximista thickening spray on my roots to give my hair structure and volume, which I desperately needed. Then she sprayed some Oribe Foundation mist to even out the product followed by some Oribe Crème for Style to hold the curls in place. She then proceeded to blow dry my hair using a rounded brush. Once my hair was dry, full of volume and smelling like a life of luxury, thanks to the wonderful fragrance of the Oribe products, I was ready for the curling iron.
As Rebecca delicately wrapped each strand of my hair around the curling iron I jumped on the opportunity to find out more about the blowout craze. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that blowouts don’t just last one day, but up to three days instead. How amazing to not have to worry about your hair for three whole days! That’s like the magic time fairy floating down and granting you three free hours to concentrate on work, play, or whatever else you’re missing out on when you’re busy doing your own hair. Rebecca also told me about an awesome Oribe product called Dry Texturizing Spray which eliminates the oils from your hair and allows you to go wash free without feeling yucky.
Once my curls were beautifully in place, Rebecca finished me off with some Oribe Superfine Hair Spray to hold them in place. What a difference, I went from frumplestilskin to red carpet ready in less than 40 minutes!
Pucci blowouts are generally $45, but for a limited time you can get gorgeous for only $35. All blowouts include a shampoo, unless you’re going for curls. Don’t waste time doing your own hair, book an appointment today!

Create a Healthy Glow With Home-Made Sugar Scrub
Winter’s chilly, dry air can be very hard on our skin, especially here in Arizona. And the holiday season can be very hard on our wallets… So we have a solution for both. With this home-made sugar scrub recipe you can cure your skin without putting a dent in your wallet. Organic plant –based ingredients nourish and protect your skin naturally, so you can attain that healthy glow by using ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.
Ready to get started? Here’s what you’ll need:
2 cups of brown sugar (lightly packed)
½ cup of olive oil (or any plant based oils such as almond, coconut, or sunflower)
¼ cup of honey (honey not only moisturizes your skin, it helps hold the moisture in)
1 teaspoon of vanilla (this is purely for scent, so if you prefer something different you can use a tablespoon of your favorite dried herb.)
Simply mix all of your ingredients together in a tight sealing container and massage into your skin before a bath or a shower. To make sure the mixture lasts longer you can toss in the contents of one punctured Vitamin E tablet (not only will this keep the oil fresh, it will add healing power to your home-made scrub!).

Feathers soar through generations
Feathers, feathers everywhere, from wings birds to people’s hair!
Hair feathers may seem like the “new” trend, but in reality they’ve been around for hundreds of years.
Native Americans wore feathers as a symbol of communication with the Spirit, divine wisdom and courage during battle. Hair feathers were later adapted by the flappers of the 1920’s as a representation of their journey, “flight”, into womanhood.
Today hair feathers are crossing cultural divides and making waves in fashion. Feathers have been spotted on and off the red carpet and range in a variety of color combinations, from super fashionable shades to very natural earth tones. No matter what your style, you are guaranteed to find feathers to match your unique personality and represent your personal journey through life.
At Pucci Salon, we understand the importance of fashion and want to make it easy for you to fly with the current trends. That’s why for a limited time we are offering a “buy 3 get 1 free” deal on all of our hair feather extensions. Book your appointment today!
